About us
Adipur, an educational town, situated in the
Western India, is near the Kandla Port,
in Kachchh district of Gujarat. It is here, where Tolani Institute of Management Studies (TIMS)
was founded on the vision of Late Madam Jamwanti H.
Kanal, the eldest daughter of Late Kaka Shri
Pribhdas Tolani and the founder President of
Gandhidham Collegiate Board (GCB). TIMS was started
in 1995 with the mission to develop humane managers
of essence and excellence through excellent
education, research and consultancy. Over 600
students have graduated from the portals of the
institute, and are placed in positions of
responsibility in various organizations across India
and abroad.
The Institute focuses on
producing life-long learners, molded to become an
overall developed personality. The campus features
and amenities are comparable to any reputed
institution around the world. Interactive sessions
with leaders of the corporate world are regularly
conducted in the multimedia auditoria and
amphitheaters, keeping students up-todate on the
latest corporate nuances by instilling in them
virtues and skills needed to make a difference in
tomorrow's world.
The Program
The Two-Year Full Time Post
Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM)
Program, divided into Four semesters, is approved by
All India Council for Technical Education, New
Delhi. It imparts in-depth knowledge in all the
functional areas of business management.
The program built-up on the fundamental knowledge of
the students, permits them to explore their
interests to a greater depth, emphasizes more on
application of management principles and techniques
in modern business through continuous industrial
interactions and highlights decision-making for
controlling and applying management concepts. The
projects and assignments undertaken as part of the
program help them in individual betterment with due
emphasis on team work.
The course work comprises of core subjects and
electives. While the core subjects help the students
prepare for advanced study in functional areas, the
electives focus on extending their depth and
understanding of the subjects. A two-month
internship at the end of the first year gives the
students an in-company learning experience, helping
them to integrate theory with practice.
A high profile academic committee periodically
reviews and updates the syllabi based on the
changing needs of business environment and brings it
for the approved of the Governing Council. The
program covers 32 courses spread over modules of 50
hours each and a final project over a two-years
period.
The
Philosophy
The institute adheres to the
philosophy of market orientation and has been in
forefront of introducing cutting edge courses like
Future and Options, Mergers & Acquisitions,
International Financial Management, Insurance and
Risk Management, Services Marketing, Marketing
Logistics, Strategic Brand Management, Strategic
Marketing and Port Operations Management. The
faculty is encouraged to further the frontiers of
knowledge through research.
